The old Hawthorne Strip, on Hawthorne Ave., was a decent strip club. Small, cozy, neighborhood dive bar sort of feel with a small stage up front. The new Hawthorne Strip lacks all of that charm. I was really looking forward to Hawthorne Strip opening up over a year ago already. I have friends that work there, and still, I have no desire to go to that club anymore. A lot of the reason why I don't like this club is out of principle. I can't really get into those details in a public forum though.

I can't completely say that this is true, but...the last time I was there was on a night of strip clubbing in which I was drinking Johnny Walker Red label scotch all night. I had been to maybe a half dozen clubs prior to this one. At least one red label at each one. Each of them tasted the same. I ordered one at Hawthorne Strip and it didn't taste like Red Label at all. I couldn't even finish it. I gave me reason to suspect that they might be filling their premium bottles with bottom shelf liquors to save money.

From more of an unbiased perspective, this place is somewhat known for it's no contact dances. There is absolutely no contact allowed between the dancer and the customer. It always struck me as odd that if you are going to pay $20 for a lap dance, you should be expecting some level of contact. Apparently that is a think though.
