A sub-divided club

I haven't been to any of the Spearmint Rhino clubs, though I've heard of the enormous one in Las Vegas. That may have colored my expectations, because my first impression on arriving at the one in Minneapolis (downtown, easily walkable from hotels near the convention center) was that it was quite small. Immediately inside there is a tiny "stage" - a pole with a circle around it. There weren't many places to sit to see that one, other than maybe the bar, but there was a dancer at it gamely trying to dance in the tiny space. After that came the bar and then the rectangular area with seating and the stage. There were only a few dozen seats, though the stage itself was decently sized with two poles and space for the dancers to move around.

Apparently there's a lot more to the club than is immediately apparent. Some of the dancers told me about an upstairs VIP area where groups with bottle service hang out and then another (third level?) space for even more exclusive/expensive access. The main area had been remodeled not too long ago and was in good shape with pretty comfortable seats and they all had a good view of the stage. It was just smaller than I expected. Service was good. My Coke was $4 and a bottle of water was $7. Admission was $15, though that may have been higher than normal because they had a visiting porn star feature. An hour after her supposed start time she still hadn't shown up and I left, so the extra cover was a bit wasted.

The stage performances were pretty good. I didn't see any great pole tricks, but there was some good dancing including traditional stripper twerking and more dance club moves. There was a nice variety of dancers, more so than some clubs. There were several black and asian dancers, and at least one latina, among the predominantly white ones. Most were natural, with a variety of curves, with some enhancements among them. I was there fairly early, and the club wasn't busy. I was approached pretty consistently by dancers. Most asked "can I join you" and chatted a bit before getting to the ask for a dance.
