I visited The Platinum Room in...

I visited The Platinum Room in January 2004, which by their own admission is one of the quieter times of year. For the most part the club was fairly empty until around 2.30am when it filled up with people from the other bars in the area coming in for a post work drink.

The club itself is well appointed, with a good-sized stage which runs around a swimming pool, and around 5 poles. There are normally 3 dancers on stage at once. The stage show is topless only. The room where the private dances took place was bathed in a blue light with beaded curtains hanging from the ceiling which afforded a degree of privacy.

The girls in general were attractive, and some of them absolutely stunning, and their ability varied from clumsy and mechanical to stylish and erotic, but this is often the case. Touching was mostly acceptable, with each dancer imposing their own limits on what was allowed.

The cover charge was $10, drinks were between $5 and $7 and various types of Champagne were available for $60 and up. There is also a restaurant, which I didn't try, but I had heard good reports on it.

Lapdances were £20 for topless and £30 for full nude. You could also negotiate to have a lesbian show on the bed in the private dance area, but (strangely) these these were topless only as well.
