Penthouse

This will be a very short review of a visit I aborted because of this club's fucked up parking policy. I knew from previous reviews that valet parking was mandatory, but I assumed that meant if you wanted to park in the club's lot. I really don't like valet parking because I am perfectly capable of parking my own car and I don't like strangers driving my car, and I like even less strangers driving my rental car that I am response for. However, it is a necessary evil under some circumstances, and of course a property owner can set whatever conditions he wants for the privilege of parking on his property. So, I was prepared to use the valet parking even though I don't like it, but as I was pulling up to the club I saw several cars parallel parked on the side street next to the club with an open space in the middle. I looked around and didn't see any "no parking" signs, so this appeared to be legal street parking. I slipped into the open space, got out of the car, and started walking up the sidewalk. A valet came around the corner and told me valet parking was mandatory for entrance to the club. I told him I don't like strangers driving my car, and he said sorry, that's the club policy. WTF? I was parked legally on a side street, and they expect me to go back, get in my car, drive it to the front, and hand it over to a valet, so they can take $10 me? Valet parking at normal businesses is about providing a convenience and a service to the customer. Here it's just about how can we squeeze another $10 bucks out of the customer. Fuck that. I got back in my car and drove down the road to the Coliseum where I spent the couple of hundred bucks this place would have gotten if they weren't dickheads about their parking.
