Better than average for DC
This place is not as bad as some people say, if you've experienced the worst of the worst. They renovated a few years back, and now their 2 stages look a lot more spiffy, plus they fixed the AC. Dancers tell me they fixed up the dressing room a lot, too, so it sounds like they take care of their people.
I came here with a date and we were treated like royalty -- he wasn't waving a lot of money around, not really, but it wasn't terribly busy yet and the girls were happy to hang out with us rather than hide in the dressing room until the night rush. The cocktail waitresses were kind of surly, but all the dancers we met were so sweet and friendly. One girl in particular, Lola, was really cool. After their sets, the girls did do a tip walk (holding out their garters to everyone in the room for a dollar), but it was quiet enough that people weren't really going up to the stage to tip very often, and they were never rude or aggressive, even to people who weren't tipping.
There's no food like there is at Camelot, though I've been here during one of their anniversary parties and they had a decent buffet spread. For awhile they were doing 2 for 1 happy hour drinks, I believe, but that's definitely over. Hard times. Drinks are expensive, but there's no cover, so they need to get their money somehow. I used to dance myself and was happy to hear from Lola that the house fees aren't outrageous at all and that the owners will work with girls who have bad nights and can't make the house fee. This is a family place, and Anne, the lady who runs the place, is hands-on and very motherly towards the girls. I'm happy to spend more on tips when I know it isn't all going right back to the house.
