Tootsie's - Usually great, not so much this visit

My wife and I last visited Tootsie’s on Thursday, July 14th. We’ve been there several times before and enjoyed each visit. However, this visit was way different for us; we didn’t enjoy it so much. Overall, I think Tootsie’s is one of the best clubs around; it’s spacious, has lots of beautiful women, offers a variety of options, etc. What was different this time was that the dancers seemed very self-involved. They came out on the main stage, did their dance(s), made their way around the tip railing, and seemed to disappear. Usually dancers are regularly coming up to us, and we accept or politely decline. I thought something was wrong with us (we haven’t changed THAT much in three months). Then I looked around and didn’t see any dancers approaching anybody. A half dozen or so hang around at a back railing/table talking to each other or their phones. Maybe all the good ones disappear upstairs to the VIP area. A lot of them don’t even bother smiling while on stage. There are a few 10+ blondes, absolutely Hollywood starlet types, but they dance around like it’s a chore, don’t smile and act like ice princesses. I figured out by the end that we were going to have to be the aggressors seeking them out, instead of the other (usual) way. We’ll likely go back on our next Florida visit, but we’ll be very wary if it starts out the same as this disappointing experience.
