Very smoky atmosphere, songs cut short, dancers only interested in VIP lounge
I visited Rick's midweek in the afternoon, planning for a lunch and a show with a couple of coworkers. The club already had maybe a half-dozen customers in the main lounge, and I could hear a good bit of traffic in the VIP lounge. There were several dancers on shift, of varying ethnicities and body types, including both a very obese woman who described herself as "BBW" and a stunningly statuesque beauty who could have made a swimsuit cover. So they cater to all types.
I was surprised at how smoky the atmosphere was so early in the day. There was already a tobacco haze in the air, and I didn't see that many people smoking.
I noticed while having lunch (which was moderately priced and tasted pretty decent for a club) that each of the songs faded out prematurely at about 2-1/2 to 3 minutes (distracting when you're listening to a song you like). This also meant that those guys who'd paid for a lap dance were being cheated out of their time, and everything was run on a schedule designed to facilitate this.
