Great club in the south suburbs

I have visited Club 390 a couple dozen times in the last few years, usually on weekday afternoons and sometimes late on Friday evening, such as from 10 to 11:30 or 12. As an older, non-partying kind of guy, I generally prefer the club in the afternoon, and my visit on a recent Thursday night is an example of why this is true.

I arrived around 9:30, expecting to pay no cover because (a) I'm over 35, which ordinarily means no cover on Thursday and (b) I live more than 15 miles away, which normally means no cover on Sunday-Thursday. However, unbeknownst to me it was VIP Member Appreciation Night (or something like that), so the cover was $5. Alternatively, I could have paid $50 to become a VIP member and partake in the buffet and open bar, but I passed.

Because of this special event, the club was packed with customers, most of whom seemed to be VIP members, and crawling with at least 20 dancers, the most I've ever seen here. The problem with this, besides the big noisy crowd, was that I could not find a table or get a waitress to take my drink order, because everyone was enjoying the open bar. It was fine -- I just sat at the stage the whole time and tipped.
