A So-So Time at Archibald's

It's hard to imagine being thoroughly bored in a strip club featuring so many beautiful and sexy dancers. But when you consider the restrictions on strip clubs in DC, it makes perfect sense.

First off, the club is long and narrow with a the bar taking up most of the wall on the left as you enter, and two tiny stages against the wall on the right. Archibald's is clean and rather comfortable, though cramped. When you enter, the doorman greets you and spells out the rules--no touching of the girls and cell phones are to be hidden at all times. Plus, you're required to buy a drink every half-hour. I've read about the clubs in DC, so I didn't expect much. I was staying at a nearby hotel and just wanted to take in some nude dancers for a bit--and I pretty much got what I expected. The girls were beautiful, had all the right moves, and took it all off. After they danced. they made their way throught the crowd and solicited tips from the patrons. Everyone was expected to slip a bill under their garter--and that's all. You could, of course, go to the stage to tip in the same manner.

This is not a knock on Archibald's; all clubs in DC operate the same way. No touching, no lap dances--just looking and tipping. You could, of course, treat the dancers to drinks and/or a bottle and spend time with them, but what's the point?
