Had business in Albuq downtown and hadn't been to KO for a long time, thought I'd stop in and see what was shaking. parking downtown can be a drag during a weekday; meters aren't at each spot, but centrally located, so you have to pay attention and hit the playstation and take your receipt back to place in your car dash. Often the damn things don't work, so you have to find another one and it just requires additional walking. Gone are the days of finding a meter with extra time!

So, walked up to the club, and for newbies, there is a big sign out front about the "discreet rear entrance" which is off of an alley just north of Central. May be of some help if you're married or well-know in the town. No my problem, so front door it is! Waited at the door for the 17-year-old (seemingly) bouncer/dj to admit me, asking that I tip the door, which I was somehow unable to hear. Took up a seat at the bar, eventually was able to order a beer, and started calculating how far below my normal standards I was willing to go to have a dance. One heavy-set blonde-ish dancer dragged some other bar patron back to the VIP area where I'm sure fun was to be had (ah, good old Nicari!). Stage dancer had lots of tats on lots of skin, so was looking 0-for-2. The dj has a white board with all the dancers names, and counting a whopping 4 lines, knew this was looking a lot like a cold-beer-on-a-hot-day stop.

Dancer 3 came out, more tats but less extra skin, but still wasn't "moved" enough to seek eye contact. Don't even have a strong memory of dancer 4, but I was at the end of my beer and had made up my mind to bolt when she stepped out of the dressing room, so she certainly wasn't much above the other ones I'd seen.
