So I was in SF for work and decided to hit up some of the local clubs. I hadn't been to MBOT in a long time and decided to check it out to see what the current scene was like. The club is located in probably one of the seedier parts of the city, but there are so many people out now during the night that it's pretty difficult to get into any trouble unless you purposefully do something stupid. The inside of the club isn't that great - it basically looks like what it probably looked like in the 70's/80's and it's got that old theater/cabaret style vibe as well.

On this night, there were maybe 8 total girls working. Most were in the 6 range and one girl was an 8, so not a lot of eye candy. Most of the girls made a weak effort to sell a dance or two, but it seemed like most of them were expecting guys to approach them with offers. Suggested "tips" for dances were posted on the wall, and most indicated something like $140 for a 12 minutes, which is extreme since I think that's just for the room rental. You can probably negotiate with individual dancers, but I didn't really bother since the options were limited and not really my type (girls on the older/heavier side). While I was there, only the main stage was being used and not any of the other side rooms where the special shows take place. Maybe that's because it was the middle of the week and there weren't a ton of girls working.

Anyway, my overall experience wasn't that great. The entrance fee was $40, which is outrageous. My guess is that you can probably have a pretty enjoyable time if you're willing to shell out the cash and maybe the talent is better during the weekends, but it seems like the ROI isn't really there.
