I decided that I wanted to try somewhere new on this business trip, and somehow selected the Pony. I read a few reviews that intrigued me, and I sometimes like bars that seem like dives or local hangouts.

It took me a bit to find the Pony although it is not really hard. You just have to realize that the address has a North in it and where you get off the highway it is South. (It is not marked that way). The neighborhood is not so good and is very industrial. I am driving on McDuff and looking for addresses when I see two females run out of a building. They looked like Street Walkers with a drug problem. They ran up the street to a convenience store. At the time, I did not realize that they ran out of the Pony, although the Pony has a sign on the building. There is a bit of road construction and it was not so easy to double back once I past the Pony and had to go back

The building itself is Pink and the parking lot has a very secure looking fence around it. It had zero cars which was a concern. Oh well, I was here, might as well go inside. There were lots of signs about a $5 cover. Inside, there was an older woman sitting at one end of the bar smoking. In the main room is a bar and some chairs towards the back which must be where the dances happen. There is also another room with a stage and a pool table, but I did not see a chair in that room.

There is no one else in the place besides the owner and me. No customers, no dancers, no bartender. The woman speaks up and tells me that her dancers just left and should be back in a few minutes. I introduce myself and she was very pleasant. She also told me that she had 3 more girls on the way, but was not sure how long it would be. We talked about her daughter, the dancers again, and I was getting impatient. After about 15 minutes I left. No dancers ever returned. The owner never asked me for a cover nor did she offer me a drink ( I am pretty sure the don't serve alcohol.)

I gave it a shot, but won't go back. The neighborhood is sketchy at best, the dancers I saw run out of the building were 3's at best, and there was clearly no privacy inside. I do like variety, but I think this place just does not seem like a fit for me. Back to Wacko's.
