Slightly Better, Slightly Worse

I've had a love-hate relationship with Mynx Club dating back to when it was Gold Club; when you find dancers you click with it's awesome. They pay attention to you and make sure you're taken care of. When there's no dancers you know on shift you can feel left out in the cold fast. To be fair, I went a little after 2 AM (closed a local bar with friends first) so I wasn't expecting a club full of dancers however I was at least expecting something for the cover. It's $15 to get in the door if you haven't been next door first (and paid the cover) and two drink minimum (water is cheapest at $5/bottle). Once you're in the place is pretty compact; smoking is allowed and it is BYOB so if you want to bring some Grandpa's Moonshine feel free. Security at the door is pretty tight and there are usually one or two cops idling around the place so don't expect Electric Blue antics to get you into the lap dance area. The place is pretty dark (and smokey) so unless you're at the stage it's tough to see the dancer on there but most girls on the main stage get completely naked; they also have fun so don't worry about watching an art exhibition as they do interact a bit with each other and the tippers. Lap dances are pretty steep ($35/song, $45 for 2 on specials) and the lap dance area is very.... open (if you don't get a good one just watch your neighbor). Same with the misleadingly named "Private Area"; CR remains the most "private" (one group at a time, closed door, etc) but is a steep $300 which doesn't go as far as other places. On the morning I went there were about 8 girls; I could tell because there were 2 on stage, 2 hanging around the entrance, and 2 enjoying each other's company on one of the couches. There ended up being 1 girl in the LD area who apparently was the only one going out of her way to sell (or even engage the audience); Abby. She ended up dancing the next to last set on stage and actually engaged me (she talked/interacting with everyone at the rail, not me in particular) and was a little embarrassed at the attitude in general ("It's not normally like this... well, usually.") I did manage to nab her for the last special of the night (2 dances for $45) and was very happy I did; Abby is a rare treat at Mynx (tbh my general rule is hands to myself unless told otherwise, I've watched too many guys get bounced for even touching a girl's legs; Abby stated where she expected my hands to be and it was divine... nothing naughty but definitely better than just watching). Unfortunately, the usual rule of thumb is unless you find the rare talent or two among the rest you can easily sit there most the night twiddling your thumbs while the girls gossip and facebook in their underwear. YMMV but it's usually worth the price of admission for a good show.
