Old Zanzi

Zanzibar is an iconic SC in downtown Toronto, has been around for decades, in fact it celebrated its 50th anniversary several years ago. I was there recently on a rainy Friday night.

Reached around 7pm and left by 10pm. As many have said, the place is larger than it looks initially as there are seats at the back-end which is a bit far from the pole-dance area. There are two VIP areas, one a regular VIP upstairs that charges $20 one-time payment and another more luxury VIP downstairs that has its own little bar. I only ventured upstairs.

Drinks are reasonably priced and the service ok. There were probably less than 10 dancers there at 7pm as most started coming after 9pm. The dancers' quality here rivals that of its more famous competitor up Yonge Street, i.e. the Brass Rail. While Brass Rail has more dancers of every age and ethnicity, here you will find relatively young girls (didn’t see any milf/mature type), mostly local Caucasian with a few Asian, Latino, Ebony and mix race.
