new staff

I was in on a Monday in January. It was the day after David Bowie died. I remember because the DJ paid tribute in the cheesiest possible way. DJ was not a guy I'd seen in there before, and kept calling patrons "player" and "playboy" on the mic, as in "make sure to get a private dance with her, player". It was annoying every time he said it but crossed over into comedy when he decided to spin a Bowie track in honor of the departed legend, saying "we lost him yesterday, playboy". Truly moving, I hope whoever writes my eulogy has such a gift.

DJ wasn't the only new staffer, or new to me anyway. Day shift manager is a young woman named Chelsea. She seemed a little more vigilant than you might hope.
