Going Down Hill

Paradise has been my go-to club for about 10 years. The club has changed very little in that time. It is a membership club. Supposedly there is a waiting period, but I have never seen it enforced. If you want to smoke, this is the club for you. My number one complaint about this club is that you reek of smoke within 5 minutes of entering the club.

The building is small but very easy to find if you head east out of Lawrence on US 40. The gravel parking lot is in serious need of repair, but it is well lit. Right inside of the club you find an ATM and the men's room. Next is a bar with about 8 stools. There are two TVs on opposite sides of the club usually playing ESPN. Next to the bar is a relatively small stage with one pole. The back of the stage is a two way mirror and the one VIP room is on the other side.

Across from the bar and stage is a row of bench seating. A couple years ago they wrapped part of the wall around to create another bench that faces away from the bar (and has no view of the stage). Behind the front row of bench seating is a half wall and another row of benches where dances usually take place.
