way overpriced...

I'd been to Vanity Grand a couple times before in late afternoon, early evening but both times it was fairly dead...a few decent dancers but not a large selection and not many customers...so I thought I give it a late evening Saturday shot. I arrived about 10:30PM...you have to pay $20 to park (and that's not valet)....it is possible to park to an extant on the street and next time I'd use that option if I get there not too late...there's a heavy security set-up in front of the club....gated lines, scanner, pat-down etc. I guess that is a good thing...inside the cover was $20 and you had to check your coat for $2....I went in and even at this hour there were only about 25 customers and maybe 15 dancers visible...the club is large, just one main room with a huge, long bar with the long stage in the middle....dj upstairs, heavy sound-system, elaborate lights, all relatively new....I order a beer for $7 and looked around....the dancer, a chunky blonde, onstage neither had a good body nor was attractive; she was good on the pole but if I was running the club I would not have allowed her to dance...scanning the room, most of the other, mainly African-American dancers were average looking, some looking visibly worn. The only good looking women were two of the bar-maids. I sipped my beer and hoped things would change. The next dancer was more attractive, nice "thick" body with beautiful boobs, but only so-so in the looks department. Meanwhile a few dancers were coming in and the quality ranged from 4 -6....so I was already, after only 15 minutes, in for $50 to Vanity Grand and nothing worthwhile was in evidence...I hung out for a while longer hoping things would change but at a little after 11PM I decided to cut my losses and leave. On the way out the desk people said, "leaving already? didn't see anything you like?" I said, "to be honest, no. Maybe it gets better later." and they affirmed that. Clearly it is a late night crowd, but I'm not confident that the dancer quality would be all that great unless the fine ones come in late (which does happen at some clubs).
