Disappointed
This was the last major club in Houston I hadn't been to prior to today. (Once drove to Michael's which was a block or two away thinking it was Colorado..) I was excited to complete my experience today but left disappointed.
Went around 6pm. Parking was free. The front door was typical SC, wood, big and classy, always seems to "hide" but also hint at what fun can be found inside. Metal detector in the small lobby. Not a pleasant thing to me. (Most clubs don't have it and I haven't been to one that does lately.) Paid $7 cover about average.
Stepping inside it wasn't quite what I imagined from looking at pics online...it was a lot smaller than I imagined and it had a distinct weird feel - the stage was narrow and pointy on one end, club was small, many seats were against the wall surrounding the stage (except the back obviously), and felt like everyone was sitting close "together". I'm a private person and not super comfortable with this kind of layout. Stage effects and music were good though. So maybe the aforementioned is "vegas style" but the decor also isn't that great IMO. There are two zebras in the backdrop of the stage; the bar and everything else had a log cabin feel. It was definitely an intentional design to be unique but personally I feel it's a bit weird. The restroom had a lot of metal and also felt cheap.
