Glass Slipper
Cover at Glass Slipper was $10. Upon entry, the bar is immediately to the right, and runs most of the length of the club, which is basically a long, narrow hall. To the left is a row of booths. This place is probably a couple of notches below Centerfold, which is right next door, in the quality of the physical bar and the girls, but its not as bad as I was expecting based on previous reviews. The place was generally clean and well kept, and the girls probably ranged from 4 to 7, maybe an 8 or two. I only saw five or six while I was there. The stage is a small area behind the bar which is accessed by a stairway from the second floor, which is apparently also a VIP area (based on a sign on the wall with an arrow point up and the word “VIP,” but I never went up there. The stage is small, and only the part of the bar toward the rear of the club is across from the stage, so there was a crowd of guys in that area. Because the stage is behind the bar, and there is a good distance between the bar and the stage for the bartenders to work, there is no way to tip the girl on stage without throwing the money at her. This is what some the guys were doing, which was accomplished by balling up ones and tossing them to the stage. The part of the bar away from the stage was open, so I took a seat there an ordered a beer, which was completely outrageous $10, the most I have ever paid for a beer anywhere. The girls dancing put on a pretty good show, getting down on stage and spreading their legs wide. One of girls even did this and fingered herself, which got a pretty good reaction from the guys at the bar and resulted in a hail of balled up ones. There were a few other girls sitting around talking to customers. I don’t think they were regulars because I don’t see how this place could have regulars at $10 per beer. A couple of girls stopped by. The hustle factor here is high. As soon as a girl approaches, the bar tender will ask if you want to buy her a drink, which is $30. One of the girls explained that they are not allowed to sit with you unless you buy them a drink. They only get $4 from the drink, so they would prefer if the guy buys a private dance, which is also $30, so presumably they get a bigger split for a dance. They push even harder for a VIP session upstairs, which supposedly starts at $250. I was not interested in a dance or VIP session, so I did not inquire further or try to negotiate. I saw some guys buying girls drinks, but it didn’t look like they got much for the $30 drink. The girls just sat there and talked (versus some places I have been to where the girl will show a lot of physical attention if you buy a “lady drink.” This place reminds me of an “old style” strip club, what you would expect in a seedy area downtown in the 60s or 70s. The only thing missing was black and white posters hanging outside with pictures of girls with tassels on their tits and a barker trying to corral passerbys into the club so they can be fleeced by the girls inside. I’m kinda glad I went just to be able to say I’ve been there, but I won’t go back and don’t recommend it.
