Small, Crowded, Not My Scene

In Philly with friends and had some time to kill after dinner, so I checked out the Gold Club. It's kind of hard to find if you haven't been there before - it looks like you'd be able to get there directly off Broad Street, but in reality, you have to go around the block to 15th then down a dead-end alley. There was a $10 cover and I stepped inside.

The club was extremely crowded, partially because it was a very small room. The few girls circulating during the few minutes I was there seemed cute (maybe 6/10) and I was surprised to see girls topless roaming around the club. Since I had to pay a fairly rich cover, there was no drink minimum, which is good, since I drank at dinner and had to drive home.

I found a chair near the stage and a girl came up to me asking if I minded tipping her for her show. I replied that I just arrived and didn't see her show, but gave her $1 and she was content to move on. She sat on some old creepy guy's lap and let him stroke her back and butt. I personally tend to do better and have more fun with less-crowded clubs when I'm not there with buddies, and this was just too much. I figured I was wasting my time, so I cut my losses and left. $10 for cover and $1 for that one tip. I left a homeless guy another $1 on my way back to the car and ended up with a cheap, but unfulfilling night.
