meh.
I stopped by Flavors on a Monday afternoon around 5. Its at the end of a small strip mall with a restaurant and laundromat, at least I think that's whats there. Outside there really isn't much parking, I've driven by and not stopped several times because I couldn't find a place I was comfortable parking. At some times, there's some 'hood looking characters wandering the parking lot and adjacent streets. Its not so bad that I'd feel unsafe, but I wouldn't come for the first time at midnight unless that's a scene your comfortable in. I didn't pay to park or enter. A dancer told me she thinks they charge for parking and a cover of $5 or $10 depending on the night, starting after 8. Inside, the club is quite small. There's a stage on your left as you walk in, its only raised up two small steps & its only about 10ft long and 6ft deep or so, with less than 10 chairs around the 3 sides that aren't against a wall. The bar is directly in front of you, no pole/stage behind it & only about a dozen seats. There were a couple TV's, one had porn on it, one had sportscenter and the others had TV movies. There were some small, hard chairs with tables in the center of the room, with some couches along the back wall & a couple areas section off for "VIP." There's a seperate lap dance area that's away from the main floor but not private, and what appeared to be a private room. The place was pretty clean and fresh, much more so than you'd expect in the parking lot.
There wasn't a waitress, so I grabbed a $7 or $8 beer and took a seat. Later, the bartender came around and acted as a waitress, so I probably could have just sat my lazy ass down. There were a number of folks in and out, but only about 5 other customers at any given time. Clientele was mixed between professionals, retiree's, and dudes that looked more like they belonged. The DJ also works at Secrets/the Body Club in Miami, so those of you familiar with the environment there know what to expect. The short version is that songs tend to be cut short & blended together, which when combined with the patented talking throughout the song technique makes it damn near impossible to know when one song ends and another begins. The good news is the volume was a bit loud for my taste, but within range of sanity unlike BC. This DJ was one of the less obnoxious ones from BC too, but he still talked more than I'd like.
There was about 5 girls, mostly black maybe 1 white girl. Also mostly thick to fat with only one slim girl. They did 3 song sets on stage, 4 of them didn't take a thing off. Luckily, the slim one at least moved her top to the side. She had some paint on pastie type stuff over her nipples, but it wasn't as obtrusive as I thought. They did a little less of the typical black club ass shaking than I expected, but only the slim girl used the pole at all. They did a 3 for 30 dance special at the top of the hour, predictably the songs seemed cut pretty short. Normal dance prices are $5 for a table dance and $15 for a lap dance. The lap dances are done in a area with a divider from the club, but there's still a large open side and its more like one long couch with little arms dividing each dance area. The arms are narrow enough that even for average sized dudes a girl can't sit in your lap and straddle you, so the best she can do is face forward on your lap. If there was a dude next to you, you'd be rubbing elbows. There's also a matching row of seats directly across from you, so you get the idea with respect to privacy. None the less, my dances were okay. I think I did 3 or 4, it was hard to tell. The small chair size really limited the entertainment, but for $15 they weren't too bad. I didn't get pricing or details on the private room option, sorry.
