Ugh, scratch that off my bucket list

This is a summary of a few visits over the last month.

Heat is a sister bar to Club 205, with some of the same service staff working both clubs. The emphasis here is on stage dances, pub food, and beer- service is quick, the bouncers are friendly, and there is always an open pool table if ignoring naked women and playing pool on beat up tables is your bag.

That's pretty much where all the favorable comparisons stop. The place is dirty, even for a strip bar in Portland. The half dozen or so contractors I saw all had that unhealthy junkie glaze, and didn't give me the impression they even knew what day it was, much less how to be entertaining on stage. The stages themselves didn't have working lights and the sound system might have been decent at one time, but it's probably played one too many White Snake songs turned up to 11. There was a DJ, but his job seems to be more about herding the addicts on and off the stage than playing music or getting customers interested in tipping the talent. As for private dances... no one was interesting enough to give that a shot.
