I went to Sirens on Monday night and Tuesday night. Both visits were after 9pm. Of the two strip clubs left in St. John’s, this is the cheaper but more divey of the two. The club is at the south end of George Street above a bar. You pay a cover at a coat check booth downstairs, and then walk up a flight of stairs into the club. As you enter, there is a small bar to the right, a stage with two poles to the left, and tables and couches for seating straight ahead. The club also has electronic slot machines in front of the DJ’s roost. On Monday, cover was $5 after 9pm. On Tuesday, cover was $7 after 9pm. A bottle of beer was $6.75.

It seems like all of the dancers working at this club are from outside Newfoundland. Most seemed to fly in from Toronto or Montreal to work for a set term, and then go home. Sirens tended to have up to 50% black dancers on some nights, making this the more ethnically diverse of the two clubs in town. There were three dancers on Monday and seven dancers on Tuesday. The redhead waitress was the best looker in the club, in my scrutinizing opinion. Mona, a Trinidadian from Toronto, was one of the better looking of the bunch, perhaps a 7. Jordan was a curvy, beat-up-from-maternity white dancer from Halifax that was not too appealing. There was also a late 40’s French-Canadian woman from Montreal dancing. Grandmothers should not be dancing. I forgot the names of the other dancers I saw on my two visits. If you tip $5, you can lie on the stage and get up close and personal. Dancers will ride you like they are having sex and put their pussies near your mouth, kind of like a mini bed dance for all to see.

Private dances take place in an area off to the right in the back of the club. There are benches separated by walls for regular lap dances. There are also two cubicles to lay flat in for bed dances. Two-way touching is encouraged here. I did not see any cameras in the private dance area, nor were there any bouncers snooping around. It might be possible to get extras (HJ or BJ) here if foot traffic is light. I did see what appeared to be either half-dried jizz or spit on the carpet in one of the booths. Lap dances are $20 per song. Most dancers will get nude right off the bat, but some will keep their bottoms on unless you go a few songs deep.
