Turn for the worse.
This is somewhat of a compilation review as this club was, until recently, one of my favorite haunts in J'Ville, but I will also cover some specifics about my Tuesday night visit.
In my October 2014 review, I gave them props for improving dancer quality. However, things have been pretty hit or miss recently. One night they will have a strong evening rotation and, the very next night, they will struggle to put talent on the stage. Every so often they draft one of the waitresses to dance, especially on swing shifts between 7 and 9, The club has also been getting a little darker on the talent front. During my last visit, it was a decent night on the talent front, with 7 girls that I could count, all but two of which were worth at least a glance and one of which was a real knockout. But more times than not recently my visits have been disappointing from a talent standpoint.
Happy hour runs from 4-8pm, though a cover is charged after 7pm. On S-Th evenings the cover is $5 and on Friday and Saturday nights it is $7. I only drink Jack on the rocks there, which is $8 for a single shot or $11 for a double shot drink (which is what I always order). The happy hour is not much of a deal any more if you drink hard liquor and, indeed, booze just got much more expensive with a change in measuring policies. The happy hour double Jack price is still $7, but they are now using an absurdly tiny measuring piece. Apparently this just went into effect earlier in the week, where the bartenders were told that they were over-pouring and needed to measure using those thimbles. Needless to say, I found my drinks disappearing very quickly. I was ok with this at the happy hour price, but I was having trouble stomaching the thought of paying $11 per drink for what is now being called a double.
