Late visit, different style

Visited Satin Dolls around 1am after a long night of drinking. Knowing they didn't serve alcohol, we prepped ahead of time and were able to make it a few hours without sobering up. The setup for the club is a bit odd, with a front brightly (almost jarringly) lit room with a bar and pool tables, with the stage and private rooms in back. The vibe in the stage area was mellow, verging on slow, with a single stage and surrounding tables and chairs. The basic setup seems to be a single topless girl on stage giving dances for $2-5 a pop, with maybe 2-3 additional girls hanging out (sometimes it was 4-5, other times I looked around and there were literally no other dancers anywhere). The private dance arrangement was the most different from other clubs I've been to, requiring you to go to the DJ to request and pay for the dance, rather than the girl herself. This minimizes pressure for dances from the girls, but makes for a bit of an extra awkward step to deal with a middle-man. That being said, the private dance was not bad. $25/song, $50 for 2, $100 for 5, or $200/hr. Private spaces were pretty well secluded, and the single dance I got was a lot of fun, wandering hands and mouth were allowed, but didn't go much further than that. The girls were all in the 5-7 range, with a few exceptions on either side, and the clientele looked to all be in the 18-24 range of guys, barely anyone looked to be over 30. But overall, if you've got your drinks in beforehand, this is a good place to kill a couple hours late at night with good eye candy to look at and get a dance with.
