Pretty decent crowd and dancers in...

Pretty decent crowd and dancers in attendance this visit to SSJ, especially for a weeknight. There were groups of people coming in at all hours, so the place never died off like it normally does as it gets later into the evening. Probably 12 dancers were there, with a little variety for once. If you like thinner, not augmented dancers, this is the place to be. Britany, the dancer who is the one on the billboard and homepage for SSJ was up visiting from Myrtle Beach for the week. (She is thinner and with darker hair now.) She works at Masters at MB if you ever want to find her. Even odder, her mother danced for the first time ever with her at SSJ. (Total air dance, but the older gents found her appealing.) Not a sight I see very often. They have opened the new "private" dance area. It seems to be getting some use. The 15 minute rate isn't worth it, but the 30 minute rate works out to be reasonable. (I think it is $120 for 15 minutes, $200 for 30 minutes.) No discount on the room on Tuesdays when you get couch dances at 2 for $40, so it doesn't get much use then. I haven't found yet if anything more goes on in there. The dancers I talked with about it either hadn't used it much, or were coy with their answers. They have a shear curtain across the opening, so you can kind of tell what is going on in there, and it is right by a walkway, so I have my doubts about extras. You definitely have more privacy though.

They actually checked ID when I walked in, so they may be enforcing membership for once. (I am a member so no difference to me.) If you say no to a dancer about a couch room dance, she normally won't come back and bother you again. This is great if you want to be left alone, bad if you only want to survey the room for awhile before choosing who to get dances from. Almost all the dancers will thank you for the tips once they come off stage, so tipping is still the best way to get a dancer's attention. (And for a dollar, you get a great show! Sometimes with some contact, sometimes not) Saw several dancers get fully nude on first of two dances. Not sure if that is to encourage more tipping on first dance?
