Babes

I visited Babes twice during my visit to Jackson. Babes is in a commercial area on the outskirts of Jackson. Not a great area, but not a bad area either—no safety concerns. Parking is free, and the parking lot is watched by a guy who greeted me and opened the door. The first visit was on Wednesday, about 8:30. I was offered the option of paying a $7 cover charge and paying for beer by the drink (they sell only beer, no liquor), or paying a $20 cover, getting a wristband, and getting free beer for the rest of evening. I asked the girl at the door how much the beer costs. She said about $4 or $4.50. I usually drink at least three or four beers, so the math said to pay the $20 cover and get the wristband, which I did. Upon entry, the place looked dead. It’s not a large club, with one central stage in the middle and two smaller satellite stages in the back, which are apparently only used if a dancer feels like using them. The club is pretty nice and well kept, although no one would mistake it for a upscale club. There were fewer than a dozen guys, mostly blue collar types, and only about a half-dozen dancers. The quality of the dancers was not great, mostly white with a couple of AAs. There was one slender, athletic AA that I would rate a 7, and it went down from there, way down. TUSCL lists this as a pastie bar, but none of the dancers were wearing them. All danced topless and most, but not all of the dancers got nude by the end of their set. I tipped the AA while she was on stage, for which she flashed her kitty. After she was done she came over, thanked me, chatted me up a bit, and explained the pricing structure. Private dances in a non-private area with a row of couches were $25. VIP dances at 3 for $100 are also available in separate area with allegedly more privacy. A half hour private room was also available, but I can’t remember what she quoted. I took her up on the $25 dances. I tried to negotiate her down with a 2 for $40 offer. She wouldn’t budge, but the dances were quite good. The last time I was in Jackson was several years ago and the dances were pretty lame. These were good, topless dances, with lots of grinding and two way touching. I got a couple of dances, got my money’s worth from the $20 wristband, and then went to Danny’s Downtown, another strip club which is a block away, which I’ll write up separately. The next night, I came back at about 9:30. This time, I was offered the option of no cover charge and paying for my beer, or the $20 wristband. This night I was only planning on having a couple of beers, so the economics dictated the no cover option and paying for my own beer. This time, which was a Thursday, the club was more crowded. Dancer quality and quantity, however, was noticeably better. There were a few very nice looking 8 to 9 range dancers. I got a couple of $25 dances from a nice looking white girl and a solidly built AA. Once again, the dances were quite good. Overall, Babes is a good strip club and well worth a visit, as long as you don’t come expecting a lot of very good looking dancers. For that, you need to go Danny’s Downtown across the street.
