Nice club, modern but with old school touches
I went to the Cabaret on a Monday afternoon, about 1:30. It was as you would expect, very slow. There were about 5 customers, all sitting at the large figure 8 shaped bar and about 5 dancers that I was able to see. I was told that there was a relatively recent management change at this long time club, and it really shows. This is a really nice space, well thought out and keeping just enough of back-in-the-day touches to make it both modern and comfortable. The large main room is roughly divided in thirds between the large bar area, the cross shaped dance stage and the table area. The private booth area is a separate room. Premium drafts were $10 ($15 for a small pitcher) and $7 for regular drafts ($12 for a small pitcher.) All the action was on the stage. No one ever approached me for a private dance. The dance sets were long (seemed like 20 minutes) and the emphasis was on dancing and performance (old school). I saw 3 dancers, all attractive, all good dancers. White, black & asian. I think the private dances were $30 for typical Mass air but nobody offered so I didn't ask. The place is really nicely lit with none of the eye adjustments some people have to go through. The music was not overly loud so you could talk. I enjoyed talking to the nice looking bartender. The location couldn't be better or safer. Right on Route 1 south, easy on easy off & plenty of free parking. I will return sometime when it is a little busier and hope I might get a little more attention but all in all a very nice place to hang out for a awhile.
