Favorite Detroit Club

After a little stop in Detroit and a chance to sample some of the clubs in this city, I left feeling pretty comfortable placing the Penthouse Club at the top of my list of spots to visit again when I return. Inside the club is actually a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Unless you tip one of the bouncers the only places to sit were at a fairly small bar in the front of the club or at the smoker's bar upstairs. Honestly felt a bit cramped, even though the space is quite nice. But the beautiful women all around sure did make up for it. Sat and watched the show for a good hour. Few dancers came over to chat. And I was surprised by how low the hustle factor was. I'm used to the shark's in California who are trying to drag you to a dance before they even say hi! Dancers seemed fine with just hanging out for a bit, didn't even pressure me too much to buy drinks. But Detroit seems to be that way from my experience. This actually made it harder to get a dancer's attention than I'm used to as well. I get the feeling the way to do well in this club is be a regular whose face the girls will recognize or throw a bunch of cash around. I put in a bit of time watching the show and chatting and eventually let a pretty little blonde take me up to the booths upstairs for a few dances. CBJ and $150 later I left a happy man.
