Cheetahs San Diego
This is more of a general update about Cheetahs since its issues with the San Diego police and city council have gotten more attention.
I was expecting the city's efforts to shut down the club to have a significant impact on the quantity and quality of dancers at the Cheetahs. Surprisingly, this doesn't seem to be the case. Of the girls I've talked to, probably a third know and are nervous about the club shutting down, a third know and don't really care, and a third weren't really even aware of what was going on. There do seem to be a lot more newer girls than I've seen in the past so it's possible that a lot of the regulars that have been dancing at Cheetahs for the past few years have moved on to other clubs in town or they've tried to turn over the lineup to get rid of whoever was causing problems. That said, there were still a good number of dancers on shift the last night I went (at least 20 on a Tuesday night) and the quality was the same as all of my previous dances (average 7 with a range of 6-8).
I'd still say that this is still the best place for dances in San Diego, with best being a relative term for the area since San Diego mileage is generally pretty low. If you find the right girl, you can still have a good amount of fun, but it can take a while to develop the relationship since most of the girls are wary of getting in trouble with LE and club management is more on top things now. A lot of the dancers also bounce between the club and the bar next door so you can get to know their vibe outside of the club hustle. All in all, I was surprised (in a good way) about the status of the club and will continue to go there if I can't get across the border.
