Chez Joey: cheapest lap dances in Bourbon Street area

What used to be called The Artist's Cafe is now Chez Joey. The old joint was sold to new owners, who renovated it. I was there last week. There were a half-dozen dancers, and when I walked in the energy level was high and a big party was in the works. Ten minutes later and it's dead, dead, dead. Weird dynamics. I spent my time with a dancer named Jada, both at the bar and in a lap dance room. And this is where Chez Joey fills a needed void: lap dances were $25 per song, way less than Bourbon Street clubs. There's also an upstairs where private dances occur, but that costs $280 per hour, said the dancer. Her lap dance was fine, but I wasn't tempted to go upstairs with her. The club next door -- Dixie Divas -- has the cheapest private dance, at $120 for 30 minutes.
