I stopped by this place because...

I stopped by this place because I was staying in downtown Milwaukee and didn't want to rent a car; a cheap Uber ride got me over to this place. PLEASE NOTE: It is now called Texas Jay's.

The first thing I noticed was the dearth of dancers on shift. Even though it was around 9 pm (which is admittedly a shade earlier than strip club prime time), there were like 3 or 4 mediocre looking dancers. The bartender yelled at the dancers right in front of me. "You're late, and I'm sick of this s**t!" He must have chastised almost all of them in one way or another, which made me kind of uncomfortable. Also, the dancers wouldn't take a hint. "OK, thanks for coming by, have a good night," would be rejoined with, "So, where did you say you were from?" Uh, I didn't say, and I'm trying to get you to walk away.

Another problem is that Texas Jay's is one of those "insider clubs," if you will. They have a bunch of regulars who clearly patronize the place all the time, and have certain preferred dancers. And then those dancers will literally ONLY talk to whichever customer that is. One guy was drinking water with lemon, not buying the girl drinks, and not getting lap dances. So when she went on stage, I walked up with a $5 bill and said, "So, can I get a couple dances when you're finished on stage?" She actually declined, because weirdo lame guy ONLY wants to talk to her and no other dancers, and she intended to sit with him for as long as necessary. I have to imagine that's a club policy, because for the love of God she MUST want to make some money, no?
