Lollipop fans beware. Your club...
Lollipop fans beware. Your club is now closed. Here's a report from a local TV station. A Daytona Beach strip club known for its bad reputation was shut down Friday.
The "Lollipops" strip club on North Grandview Avenue has a history of crime and police raids, but officials said the club closed because it went bankrupt. But the club may not be closed for good.
The strip club is one of a few clubs in town where the city monitors how much clothing dancers can shed. In October, police arrested three Lollipops bouncers for allegedly beating and robbing a man who was visiting the club. WFTV found out that all of the club owner's assets were seized.
A bankruptcy trustee told officers that the terms of the bankruptcy might have been violated. An official report says two safes containing nearly $50,000 in cash were emptied. Police said the locks on the club were changed.
The attorney who represents the owner of Lollipops has not returned WFTV's calls for comment.
