I had heard about Kappa Kabanna...

I had heard about Kappa Kabanna for years and finally had the opportunity to visit last month when I was attending a conference in Normal. I arrived at the club, a pole barn on the outskirts of Kappa, after an easy 15-minute drive from my hotel in Normal. The outside was nothing special but the inside was quite nice. On a Thursday night around 10:30 I paid no cover and bought a domestic beer for about $5. I was surprised by how quiet the place was: only around 6 dancers and a similar number of customers.

I sat at a table near the stage and watched the entire rotation of dancers, some of whom dropped their thong during the second song. A delightful Latina with a strong Spanish accent joined me for a while and eventually suggested a private dance, to which I readily agreed. A two-for-$30 special plus one more dance priced at the full $30 were enough, due to her skilled grinding and my eager fondling of everything except the kitty, to arrive at the desired outcome (so to speak).

If I lived closer to Bloomington-Normal I would probably be a regular at Kappa. As it is, I greatly enjoyed my time there and look forward to occasional future visits when business brings me to the area.
