On a recent trip to the Bay Area I decided to visit the Crazy Horse instead of MBOT after reading repeated comments in the TUSCL reviews about the extravagant prices at MBOT. This turned out to be a mistake; I wish I had gone to MBOT instead. The Crazy Horse is in an old, very small movie theatre, so the room is long and narrow, with a "T" stage at the back and extending forward. The unusual stage arrangement results in most of the seats still in their original theatre configuration, facing the bottom of the T and a couple of rows of seats on either side of the leg of the T. If you sit in the rear, theatre row seats, you're way too far from the stage and the dancers; if you sit in the seats on either side of the stage, you - and any of your interactions with the dancers on stage - are on display for everyone sitting in the theatre seats. There was only one dancer, or occasionally two, dancing at a time, and it seemed to take a long time (well into the third or fourth song in a set) before all the clothes were off. The total number of dancers on a Wednesday evening appeared to be only half a dozen, with no standouts (with most scoring between a 5 and a 7. I did try a couple of private dances; the "ordinary" dances were topless only and $40 each (big city prices!) with unlimited breast fondling expected. The VIP dances (two for $80) were in small, curtained rooms, so I expected them to better, but aside from the dancer being nude, they weren't much different: breast and bottom fondling was OK, the kitty was off limits, and the dancer didn't use her hands at all. Overall, an underwhelming time - I expected more for a club in SF; next time I'll try MBOT.
