I guess Tuesday early evening is...
I guess Tuesday early evening is not the time to visit The Landing Strip. I was there from about 6:30 - 9:00, and while the club itself was very nice, the overall experience was kind of boring. I parked on the street, as people on this site have recommended. It was about 15 yards from the entrance. There was no cover, and while there was a mandatory coat check, there was no charge for it.
There was a decent number of dancers, but 7:00 is shift change, so that made it look like more. There were probably 15-20 on stage during their parade, but then they settled into a rotation of 8 or so when the day shift left. When I arrived around 6:30, there were two girls on stage at all times. After the shift change parade, they only had one dancer on stage at a time, for three songs each, one song in a bikini, then two songs topless. The girls ranged from a 3 to an 8, but most were very uninspired. There was very little dancing, just a lot of swaying and rolling around. Only one or two girls did anything with the poles. In fairness, there weren't that many people to cheer them on, and most who were there weren't tipping. But a little more energy might have encouraged more tipping. One dancer came by and offered to take me downstairs to the private room for $25 per song, but I passed. Two other girls said hi, but moved along. It seemed that most of the dancers stayed very close to a few tables that were apparently occupied by regulars. Those were the only people that seemed to tip consistently, and they were very handy while doing so - but no one seemed to mind.
The club itself is very nice, but small. There is a small stage in the middle of the room, with four tables on each side and a handful of seats right on the 'main stage,' which is just a bumped out area of the rest of the stage. Along the walls on each side of the stage are five booths, that may cost extra at some times, but tonight were open to all. At one end of the stage is the dj and the restrooms, and at the other end is a bar with about 20 seats around it. I imagine that if they had 100 people show up some night, it would feel very crowded. They have a good sound system, good lighting, and comfortable seating. Some would probably complain that it is quite smokey, and there is no escaping the smell when you leave.
