Stopped into Kappa Kabanna while in...

Stopped into Kappa Kabanna while in Bloomington for work. As far as I can tell, this is the only club within a half hour of Bloomington, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Kappa Kabanna is a warehouse style building out on the edge of the small town of Kappa, IL. The club is right off I-39, but you need to exit about a mile south of the club when coming from Bloomington. The next exit is just a few minutes to the north so it's easy enough to backtrack if necessary.

This was my first visit to Kappa Kabanna so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Paid my cover and the bouncer scanned my ID - I hate it when clubs do that... The layout of the club was pretty open with a single main stage that takes up a good portion of one wall. It looked like there was a smaller stage off in one corner but it wasn't being used when I visited. Opposite of the main stage, there is a separate private dance area in one corner and VIP lounge in another corner. The bar is off to the side and there is plenty of seating in the main floor area. There were also a handful of big-screen TVs on the walls.
