Was in Vegas for the weekend...
Was in Vegas for the weekend of the NFL conference championships. According to the cabdrivers and hotel staff, this was a pretty quiet weekend for Vegas. No big conventions, not a huge sports weekend, not pool season, etc. It was nice having no cab lines and not having to scrap to find open seats at the blackjack tables. I did fairly well at the tables and at 4a Friday night/Saturday AM I called the club line. The driver was there in 15 minutes in a black SUV with no obnoxious signs alerting others to where I was going. The driver called me twice to confirm the time and make sure we met in the right place. He was a good guy, we talked some football on the way to the club and I tipped him $15. My cab ride home a few hours later was $23 with tip. There was no objection to them sending the car for me by myself. He walked me to do the door where I was granted entry for no cover charge and after a quick wand search.
Once inside, I could see this club is nice. It's one big square room with a couple of side rooms that have stages that can be used if the club is packed. Tonight is was pretty active, but not overflowing. The layout is pretty straightforward, unlike the Rhino where I get turned around sometimes. Also, it's got a pretty high ceiling so you don't feel cramped.
My Corona was $14 before tip. Ouch. The cheap transportation and no cover offsets this, and probably one or two more, but still. I probably should've gotten a bourbon.
