So recent news that a certain Pacific NW town has lost its mind and Rick's might be seeing the end of an era brought to mind this place, the first stop on my Tour of San Diego. Got there in mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Hadn't heard much good about SD clubs in general, but in terms of 'used-to-be' this place is up there. So naturally a trip had to be made to see what all the fuss was about. No need to kick a club down for things beyond its control, but you could tell this place was tops in its heyday. This is not its heyday. That said, best looking girls in town from what I saw. Nice work on a tall stage. Not great, but that's okay since there were some top notch lookers on tap. Got some dances from the usual suspects up and down this page since they were easy to spot. The laps were about what I was expecting without putting too much $ into any one girl. At $10 a pop with this club's reputation, I sampled around. There was one dancer, a fit, trim and leggy redhead with long curls that managed to keep me in a seat for more than two dances. By then it was around the shift change, and I wasn't that interested in ponying up at least $40 for more of what I'd gotten earlier from others. Not a minute later on a couch out front the party was moved to the back. Didn't get dinged for the preview but wouldn't have cared. Afterwards, figuring that was as good as it got with a lit and clear view of everyone else in the VIP section, headed for the exit. In and out of the club was free for a later stop (if wanted, didn't happen) and there were more places to see. It's a tour after all. Bottom line. YMMV. Cheetahs is a quality club in a town that gets a raw deal, but there is at least one club around that seems to be a better bet depending on what you're in the mood for.
