This club is fading a bit....

This club is fading a bit. It's been my fav around for years, but has just plain fallen off. I drop in from time to time to see if it's picked up, but the other night finally prompted a downgrade from my last review. First off, the big fight wasn't on because there was an issue with the PPV. Not necessarily the club's fault, but not a good start and there was nothing left to focus on but the surroundings. At least the DJ let everyone know who won since they had someone calling in round-by-round. Okay, they get props for that. Very crowded, but for a Saturday during the school year that's the norm. Almost. What used to be a crowd of college kids is now a crowd of a different, non-english speaking sort. No soapbox here, their money's green too but it has made a difference in the club atmosphere. There weren't a lot of girls working, maybe ten, which is something I can't say I've ever seen there before on a weekend night (see first line). Three dances per girl instead of two and the rotation was off so not all hit the stage. The floor manager took to calling out patrons to clap after each dancer about a year or so ago (maybe it's been longer, time flies)..but it's getting annoying since MPC up in Baltimore doesn't even have a DJ talking let alone a clap nazi. Talent level is down for most of the newcomers, but a lot of the old guard is still going strong. The staff is generally cool. Laps here are still a strength, but $ for $ the wheel is a better bet these days. A 6 is maybe a little low, but picking a drunk who crashed behind my chair up off the floor didn't help the rating (got drunk outside of the club I guess, no BYOB on Sat). This is still a solid club near the tops in the area (without discussing the The Block since it's in a category all its own) but just isn't what it used to be. Gets the benefit of the doubt that it could have been an off night even though it seems more like a trend. If their top dancers leave, look out below.
