Well, I was driving by this club late on Friday afternoon and say a new sign had been put up, with a new name, with quite a few more cars than I'd expected to see in the parking lot. So I decided to check out the "new" Roc Venus.

The first signs were good. The parking lot and door area were cleaned up, something that didn't happen often enough in the past. The hall up to the inside door was no big deal, but it wasn't dingy any more, and there weren't bored employees hanging around behind the counter (which in the past usually meant a slow day inside) No daytime cover charge, which probably would have driven off most guys who knew how slow Sweethearts had become over the last year or so.

The physical setup of the club wasn't changed much, but all the changes should have made things better. There are three stages now -- one small platform in the bar area, just big enough for one girl to dance, with a pole. Nobody danced there during the afternoon. The pole was there before, but I don't remember the platform.
