Got here around 11:00 PM on...

Got here around 11:00 PM on a Wednesday night. There were six dancers, 5 black and one Hispanic. There were about 9 customers, all white except for one Asian. Owner and bartender were white. I mention the dancer stats because if you take a look at their Web site you might think it's a white club with one black dancer. Suffice it to say it wasn't my cup of tea and wish I had saved myself the 45 min drive to get there. On the positive side, everyone was very friendly. It really feels like a local bar. I was surprised to see what I believe were two hookah pipes off in the corner. One of the AA dancers I talked to, Mrs. Kitty, had a strong pot odor on her breath. I did see one person get a lap dance while I was there. Didn't get a good look at the action. Most of the dancers were friendly. Watched a couple of sets and tried to tip each of the dancers even though none were my type. The dancers have to select their own song from a machine which costs them a buck. I tried to give each of the 4 I watched a couple of bucks. There was only 1 other guy at the stage with me and he was only there for the Hispanic dancer. He went back to the bar and she joined him after the set. So, positives are no cover charge, tap waters were free (although I left a tip each time) and there was little pressure for dancers or much of anything else. About half the dancers said "hi" to me or otherwise acknowledged I was there. No pressure for dances and no offers of extraordinary services. The only gal there my type was the bar tender and that was a stretch. Based on the reviews I wouldn't want to write the place off and would try again. But, I would have reasonable expectations and not be going in expecting dancers pictured on the Web site or incredibly high mileage. After the few sets I decided to make another 45 min trek to the West to check out Sapphire's. Got there around 12:15 AM only to find out that it was closed. That sucked. Not sure which sucked more from a disappointment perspective.
