Archibald's delivers a consistently good club...
Archibald's delivers a consistently good club experience. I am a semi-regular, and am adding a review as an update on the renovation project.
The club is in an older three-story building on K Street NW, less than a block from the Capitol Hilton and the St. Regis Hotel--a safe neighborhood, generally speaking. Archibald's is on the ground floor, Fast Eddie's (a sports bar with the same owner and same kitchen) is on the second floor, with a separate entrance. The third floor is for private parties during the week, but becomes part of Archibald's on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a stage for nude dancers (working in rotation with the girls downstairs), a long bar, some couches and club tables/chairs, and a couple of pool tables. The ground floor is under construction now. During the remodeling, the third floor is open all day. Once you figure out that you enter via Fast Eddie's and walk upstairs, it's all good--same bartender, servers, and dancers that would have been downstairs.
I'm a fan of the atmosphere of the day shift here. Very laid-back, just the place for a "90 minute vacation" or liquid lunch. Food is good, service is excellent. On this visit, there were only three dancers, but all were young and attractive; no fake boobs or anything else. One of the three was a friend; we had a few drinks at the bar and a fine conversation. DC rules are what they are--no contact, etc.--but if your expectations are calibrated, it's a good time. Prices are in line with other establishments, less expensive than the Mpire Club, but about the same as Camelot.
