Sugar's has a relaxed neighborhood bar vibe about it that can't really be found in Houston. For that, I give it high marks, although it's not a classy gentleman's club like the nicer ones in Houston, Dallas, or even San Antonio.

First of all, the parking lot is very small, and gets full quickly so if you come late you'll have to valet. I got there about 9 and there were still a couple of spots open so I parked for free. The outside looks like a rustic ranch house or barbeque restaurant. The inside has a mishmash décor that is not too upscale but not a dump either. You have to go through a metal detector because there are a lot of young kind of rough looking customers. Not too many older white gentlemen like you usually see in Houston clubs. In actual fact, there were customers of all kinds of races, and wealth levels. Most were quite young and casually dressed. There were a lot more Hispanic and black customers than found in a typical Houston club. Houston clubs actively discourage customers of this sort, and the main ways they do it are (1) mostly playing classic rock and never any modern rock or hip-hop (2) mostly hiring white skinny dancers (3) making everything very expensive. Sugar's wants to attract all kinds of customers so they play all types of music including hip-hop, they have a wide variety of dancers of all races (but mostly quite young), and their costs are quite a bit lower.

On this Saturday night, it was a very full house, and there were a lot of girls, probably 50 or more. The girls ranged from 5's to 8's with mostly 6's and 7's. There were about one third each of black, Hispanic, and white. Three girls would dance on the main stage in the main room, and one dancer in a room behind the main room, which is separated from the main room by a large bar area. Further back, there is also a couch area that costs $20 to sit in all night. There is also a VIP area to the side that is a little more private (but still not very private) that you could sit in for $100 all night. However, no drinks are included in that price. The best place to get dances is the VIP which has a few nooks and crannies. The two best spots are two semi-enclosed booths that are semi-private but there can be a long wait for one of these spots to open up.
