I've all but stopped visiting/spending this...
I've all but stopped visiting/spending this club. Among other things, I am just sick of insulting and the price-scamming dancer BS. This visit, we get to the private couch, she sits in my lap, then says "You know I get $40 a dance." While the sign above her head says $30/dance.
Rather than argue over $10, to make it easier on myself, I say sure. But now she's only going to get the one dance because I'm not doing business with someone who dicks me around. And it will be the last dance she ever gets off of me in my lifetime. Then, since she conveniently forgets to say when the dance is over and ask if I want another ... and ignores my "thank you for the dance" and instead just plows forward ... I have to push her off my lap to put an end to our session. Yeah, she got her $10. And she lost more dances, more money and a customer to get it. Stripper genius never ceases to amaze me.
Let's get this straight. Technically, since the dancers are "independent contractors," they can set the price higher, if they do so up front and in advance. In my lap in the private room is not exactly what I would call "up front and in advance." At any other strip club on Earth, any dancer who does not abide by the stated price, independent contractor or not, would be not be allowed back on the floor again. Because management knows that customers who get conned on dance prices aren't ever coming back again ... and they are going to tell everyone else not to go there either. Dancers are not employees in the traditional sense, but "contracted" as needed by management. So management can simply refuse to "contract" them again the next shift, with almost zero possibility of repercussion. In that way, at any other club, were a dancer try to charge more, she would be (essentially) fired.
