I was visiting family in Battle...

I was visiting family in Battle Creek for a weekend in early August and managed to get away late on Friday night for a little much-needed club time. Of Battle Creek's two strip clubs, Heart Beats seems to get more positive reviews so I decided to try it first. The other is called Hots and will be on my itinerary the next time I'm in town.

Heart Beats is located in a somewhat downtrodden neighborhood on the west side of town at the corner of Avenue A and N. 20th Street. I arrived around 10, paid cheap cover (2 or 3 bucks), and easily found a table by the low-lying stage. I bought a 20-oz Bud for $6 and watched the entire rotation of eight dancers: one black, one black/white mix, and the rest white. The girls exhibited a variety of body types, from slim and athletic to BBW, and levels of enthusiasm.

The biracial girl (who was also, by the way, the BBW) was the first to pay any attention to me, sitting with me and conversing most pleasantly. She also had a very pretty face, so I readily agreed to a private dance. This cost $20 and took place in an unusually private room with a single couch, obviously intended for only one couple at a time. Given no obvious camera presence, I would think one could have a lot of fun with the right girl in one of these rooms. As it happens, one dance with her, even with lots of two-way touching, was enough.
