My first visit post-Katrina revealed disappointments. There seem to be SOME new customers, SEVERAL new waitresses, and A FEW new (or simply unbeknownst to me) dancers. In addition, there seem to be MANY new rules. I guess Jackson Police have let the word out that the vice squad will be cracking down, or the managers at Babes have just intelligently figgered that idea out, what with all the newly unemployed and/or homeless who have arrived in town as refugees. As these less-than-wealthy get settled into sub-standard neighborhoods and start to want a little spending money, the reasoning might go, people will resort to grey- and then black-market means to make an income. I had actually hoped that would be the case, and that therefore it could become more of a buyer's market here in Jackson for adult entertainment than it had previously been, but it seems the market has swung in the opposite direction, toward even tighter control on the supply despite an increase in potential work-force. Things may fall out in favor of the customer later, as more women get more desperate or get a Jackson city dancer's "license" or whatever they call it.

Saw some dancers wearing pasties, for example. That's been the rule in Jackson for a while, I think, but I have never seen it until this weekend. And some girls didn't want me to just hug 'em and kind of hang out with my hand on their hips, unless they were wearing a full covering between my hand and their skin. If this continues to be the norm then there's no damned reason to go to Babe's at all, might as well just go get insulted and treated like shit at Danny's as per usual, at least their bathrooms are clean. The dancers at Babe's were the old standards, some of whom have started to gain weight. It seems to be about a six- or twelve-month career, this skinniness thang. Soon enough they pork out. STOP THAT dangit! Candy, for example, doesn't look great any more; Monroe was there, about as average-to-hot as ever; and Snow; and Carmen (also gaining weight, but still jiggly in that over-bootay ghetto way of hers); and Tori has plumped too.
