One week review.
Hey everyone, just got back from a week in El Paso visiting family and handling some personal business, and I ended up checking out Bucks Gentleman’s Club almost every day from August 24-29, mostly between 6 PM and 10 PM, with one daytime visit on Friday. Here’s my take on the place based on the different days and vibes—hope it helps anyone considering a visit.
Setup and Basics: The club’s got a $10 cover before 10 PM, and you go through a metal detector at the door, which is pretty standard. They’re strict about it being 21+, and they scan your ID every single time, which feels a bit invasive for privacy if you’re a regular. The layout’s decent: main stage up front, a double-pole side stage by the bar to the left, and the VIP area is tucked away in the back right corner. No extra fee for VIP access, but dances are $25 per song. Drinks are reasonable—$4 domestic beers and $8 for mixed drinks like Tito’s, which I stuck with most nights. There’s also a patio facing the freeway, which isn’t bad for a breather.
Monday (6 PM): Rolled in on a Monday, and man, the place was dead. Barely any customers, and the talent was seriously lacking. Mostly Hispanic dancers, as expected for El Paso, with a couple of African American dancers walking around. Nothing caught my eye, so I grabbed a drink, hung out for a bit, and left. Not much to say—slow night, low energy.
Tuesday (6 PM): Things picked up a bit. A few more dancers, and one light-skinned Mexican spinner caught my attention. She said it was her second day dancing, and it showed—she wasn’t exactly setting the stage on fire. I tipped her a bit on stage, but nothing else stood out, so I bounced after a short visit. Slight improvement over Monday, but still not great.
Thursday (6 PM): This was the busiest night by far—lots of customers and dancers. The vibe was lively, but the type of dancers I’m into were still nowhere to be found. I did spot the spinner from Tuesday and decided to give her a shot in the VIP. Big mistake. Easily the worst dance I’ve ever had—she half-assed the whole thing, and I felt nothing. After one song, I politely cut my losses and said thanks. No wonder she wasn’t pulling in customers. Later, a decent Cuban dancer approached for a dance, but I passed since the VIP area was packed and not private at all. The VIP attendant kept staring my way during the terrible dance, which was awkward—imagine if I was actually enjoying myself! I tipped the Cuban on stage and left. Disappointing night despite the crowd.
Friday (Noon): Decided to try the day shift for a change. Got there around noon, and it was predictably empty—few dancers, even fewer customers. Grabbed a club soda for $3 and waited. By 1:30 PM, more dancers and customers trickled in, but the dancer quality was still subpar in my opinion. I was out by 2 PM, feeling like I’d wasted my time.
Overall Thoughts: Bucks is apparently the best El Paso has to offer, but honestly, it’s not much. I visited last year and found better talent, so maybe the club’s just in a rough patch right now. The setup is fine, drinks are affordable, and the patio’s a nice touch, but the dancer quality was consistently underwhelming across my visits. The privacy concerns with ID scanning every time and the overly attentive VIP staff didn’t help. If you’re in El Paso and looking for a spot, Bucks might be your only real option, but don’t expect to be blown away. I’d give it a 3/10—might skip it next time unless I hear things have improved.
Anyone else been to Bucks recently? Curious if I just hit it on a bad week or if this is the new normal.
