If you would have asked me...

If you would have asked me three years ago what the best club in town was, I would have said D2, hands down. But, for some reason, they've taken away just about everything that made this a great place to unwind after a long week. I used to stop in about once a month, but after three lousy visits in a row, I think I'll hit up Sunset Strip or Wildcats if I'm in the mood for staring at naked women on the west side of town.

Here's a few of the reasons why. $5 cover charge. Music is so loud its painful- you can't even carry on a conversation in the back pool room anymore. The DJ thinks he's the show. The oil droplet theatrical smoke machine is so cranked, you can't breathe or even see across the stage. My friends an I are always great tippers- however, I've stood at the bar waiting for 20 minutes while the bartenders yak with each other and ignore the customers. We've had waitresses will take our order, walk away, and not be seen for an hour, only to return with what she says we've ordered- usually we'll order call drinks like Glenlivet, only to have them bring back well whisky and charge us for the much more expensive drinks. Then, the server has the nads to complain when you don't tip them for lousy service. To top it off, the bathroom is usually filthy, and is manned by a troll who expects a tip for squirting soap into your hand. Ugh.

Last, but not least, the quality of the women and the entertainment has fallen off a cliff. Most of the contractors are either 40 something burned out lesbians with hard as rock implants or petite women who look like they haven't hit puberty yet. One is sad, and the other is disgusting. What were once private dances are now conducted with a pillow the size of a futon separating you and teh entertainer, on a couch along the back wall, with one of a half dozen apes staring at you the whole time. If you're really lucky, you might get a table or two of migrant workers who've been nursing their one Bud Light all night to join in the gawking festival.
