Summertime in Phoenix, for some it...
Summertime in Phoenix, for some it is a drag, but for me it is a vacation from all the crowds experienced when the weather is like paradise. Summer here is like paying taxes, and with the low cost of living it is a small price to pay in this town. I usually have a great time here, but lately my feelings have been mixed. It seems the Hiliter had always been busy durin the day, but nothing like I've seen my last two visits. Of course they have been on high traffic days like Thursday and Friday afternoon.
Harlow is hot, much like the sweaty feeling I have trying to relax on this steamy day. Maybe the air conditioning needs repair, but after only a couple dances the comfort level is gone and I just want to sip on my drink and fan off my sweat. The place was full of customers and this probably plays part in the temperature, but it is also humid. I don't know how the bouncers can put up with it in their tuxedos/suits. Candy is one cool chic, yet even after a couple dances I felt she was going to slide out and away from me, and not from excitement either. There is a new girl named Ryan that I must get dances from, but of course he has been monopolized quickly. Maybe another time.
I need to learn when the slow times to come. When it is busy I get the feeling that the girls are ready to hustle and if you're not willing to dance right away, the dancers will snub their noses at you and quickly run off to the next pathetic loser to find. One of my ex favorites was there and I noticed she was receiving gifts from an older gentleman. Now I know why she never pays any attention to me anymore, it's because I don't throw the cash around as much as the others. You definitely get preferential treatment that way, and the girls make sure you know you have to put out for their attention. I certainly can understand their business model, I'm not their to make best friends with anyone either.
